Position Summary:
The Director Global Master Data Management & Governance will be responsible for defining and executing a strategic vision for master data management (MDM) and governance across the company’s global operations. This high-impact role ensures data quality, accuracy, and integrity within SAP S/4HANA and MDG to support procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, warehousing, and engineering functions.
The Director, Global Master Data Management & Governance, will define and execute a strategic vision for enterprise-wide MDM and governance in a complex, multi-site global manufacturing environment. This role reports directly to the COO and will serve as a key member of the extended leadership team, driving cross-functional alignment, data integrity, and digital transformation initiatives that directly impact corporate strategy and operational excellence.

Total Rewards:
- $200–240K base salary, 35% annual bonus, and participation in a long-term incentive plan (LTIP). Also includes 20 PTO days, comprehensive health benefits, and a hybrid work structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a global MDM strategy aligned with corporate objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Champion global master data standardization and serve as an executive sponsor for data governance transformation programs.
- Oversee material master and customer master data processes, optimizing data workflows in SAP S/4HANA and MDG.
- Lead and mentor a global Master Data Team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Partner with executive leadership in IT, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Commercial functions to embed MDM practices across the enterprise.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data accuracy, completeness, and governance adherence.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, including GDPR and SOX, while supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance data utilization and governance effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for MDM strategy, execution, and issue resolution.
- Provide executive-level reporting and updates to the COO and leadership team on MDM program performance, risk, and compliance.
Primary Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Technical Field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role with global accountability for master data governance, data analytics or related domains in a manufacturing or materials engineering environment is required.
- Leadership Experience: 5 years of leadership experience is required, preferably with teams focused on Master Data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and a track record of building or evolving high-performing teams in a global setting.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience with SAP is required. Experience with S4Hana preferred. Experience with MDG is preferred but not mandatory, provided the candidate has a solid foundation in SAP systems and understands master data workflows.
- Familiarity with SQL, data modeling, and data profiling tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of data structures and hierarchies related to manufacturing (e.g., materials, business partners, work orders, routings).
- Understanding of PLM systems and SAP data integrations is a plus.
- Change Management & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives and improve governance processes while managing through ambiguity and complex challenges.
- Business Acumen: Ability to align data governance strategies with enterprise-level goals, optimizing data quality to support operational performance.
- Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to work effectively across global teams, influencing stakeholders from technical, commercial, and executive leadership levels.
- Execution-Oriented: Experience driving and executing MDM frameworks or large-scale data governance efforts that deliver measurable business value.
